NC CAP's quality standards are concise sets of prioritised statements designed to drive measurable quality improvements within the afterschool and expanded learning environment. They are derived from the best available evidence, guidance from academia and practioners, and other evidence sources. They are developed independently by NC CAP, in collaboration with professionals, state agencies, and funders.
Quality standards cover a broad range of topics (program quality and professional competencies) and are relevant to a variety of different audiences, which will vary across the topics. Audiences include parents, funders, policy makers, school districts and personnel, state agencies, national advocates, boards, and program leadership and staff.
